Disneyland welcomed back late King of Pop Michael Jackson's 1986 3D Sci-fi adventure "Captain EO" with rerun at the Tomorrowland Theater for limited engagement in Anaheim, California Tuesday.

Directed by Francis Coppola ("The Godfather") and co-written by George Lucas ("Star Wars"), the 17-minute musical was made during the 80s, the heyday for Michael Jackson's career.

It cost a reported 30 million dollars to make and ran as an attraction at the theme park until 1997. Jackson, acting as a captain leading a group of aliens, strove to deliver a gift to the wicked universe-enslaving witch Queen played by Anjelica Huston.

Of the two Jackson songs featured in the movie, "Another Part of Me" was later collected in the "Bad" album. Fans began lobbying for the return of the 3-D film soon after Jackson's June 25 death last year, saying it would honor the King of Pop.

A Disney spokeswoman was quoted as saying that "Captain EO" would stay for as long as it remained popular.
