[Photo: ent.ifeng.com/TUNGSTAR] Actress Tang Wei is likely to return to the Chinese mainland to promote her new film "Crossing Hennessy," co-starring Hong Kong singer-actor Jacky Cheung, the "Guangzhou Daily" reports. Despite previously rumored reports of Tang's absence, the film will be screened across the mainland, although its opening date is still unknown, the newspaper says. A teaser trailer for the romantic comedy has already hit some cinemas on the mainland, announcing that the film will be coming out in March. Lead actress Tang will travel with director Ivy Ho and other cast members to the mainland for promotional activities when the film's release date is set, the newspaper reports, citing an unnamed source at Hong Kong Edko Film Ltd., the movie's production company. Dressed casually with cheesy makeup and demonstrating unpolished table manners, Tang plays a goofy-looking girl-next-door character in her comeback project. She portrays an unsociable girl approaching marriageable age, who is set up with a kind but happy-go-lucky electrical appliance shop owner played by Jacky Cheung. It has been two years since Tang vanished from screens on the mainland after achieving overnight fame for her controversial performance in Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution." |
