The total export value of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province registered a strong year-on-year increase of nearly 10% in the first two months of 2026, data from Harbin Customs showed.
The growth was driven by the province's booming winter tourism and China's visa-free policy for Russian travelers. Between January and February, the number of inbound and outbound passengers at Heilongjiang's ports surged over 17% year on year, exceeding 320,000.
The significant rise in passenger flow has given a major boost to cross-border logistics, contributing to a more than twofold increase in the province's automobile exports, with the value surpassing 700 million yuan.
Heilongjiang's total cargo trade topped 14.2 billion yuan during the period, up 9.6% from a year earlier. Exports to countries along the Belt and Road Initiative reached 11.5 billion yuan, marking a notable increase of 14.5%.
