Capitalizing on the China-Russia mutual visa-free entry policies, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province is enhancing its services for tourists upon arrival.
In Suifenhe Port, a new “self-drive tour” service has been introduced. Russian visitors can now apply for a temporary driving license in the joint inspection hall using only their passport and a valid driver’s license from their home country, streamlining the process into a single step.
Foreign currency exchange counters and POS machines that accept international bank cards have been made available across the northeastern province. These measures aim to improve the payment ecosystem for inbound tourists, supporting large-amount card payments, small-amount QR code transactions, and using cash as a supplement. Services for tax refunds upon departure have also been optimized.
Since the start of this year, the three major ports of Heihe, Suifenhe, and Tongjiang have recorded over 180,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips.
