    Jackie Chen and Liu Xiang(R).

Chinese former world champion hurdler Liu Xiang may play a thief in Jackie Chan's eighth installment of 'Police Story' movie series, China News Service reports.

In the film, Liu Xiang's thief character will desperately run, jump and leap over bicycles and cars on the street while policeman Jackie Chan pursues him.

Jackie Chan sent out his invitation to the hurdler at a recent charity event attended by celebrities like JJ Lam, Pan Wilber and Angela Chang.

However, filming will start after Liu Xiang retires from his sporting career, probably at the age of 30. He dropped the hint of his retirement in an interview after he won the title at the 11th Chinese National Games that closed on October 28th.

On that night, Liu Xiang also joined with Jackie Chan in chanting their hit song 'True Heroes.' The jointly recorded music album will be put online for auction and the returns will go to charity event, according to Jackie Chan.
