Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-Fat's next film will be a Spanish-American-German-Chinese cooperation, entertainment news Web site Screendaily.com reports.

"Dancing with Strangers" will be produced by Barcelona-based Zip Films in cooperation with producers and investors from the U.S., Germany and China, the Web site cited Norbert Llaras, Zip Films' chief financial officer, as saying.

The film will be about a Broadway dancer who returns to Germany and China to find his roots. However, it's unconfirmed whether Chow will play the lead role.

With a budget of 15 million U.S. dollars, shooting is scheduled to start in autumn 2010.

Chow Yun-Fat, the lead actor in Ang Lee's Oscar-winning martial-arts film, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", released in 2000, has made several international appearances since then. His most recent Hollywood effort was "Dragonball Evolution", which opened in North America earlier this year. Chow also made a cameo in the third installation of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series, released in 2007.

Domestically, Chow has just completed his portrait of the great Chinese philosopher in the upcoming film "Confucius". Director Hu Mei has said that Chow's participation is expected to help the film on the international market.
