During the three-day New Year holiday between January 1 and 3, Harbin’s bustling local food markets, long favored by residents for culinary exploration, gained notable popularity among tourists. This trend aligns with the city’s booming ice and snow tourism.

The century-old Fendou (Endeavor) Food Market, located in the basement of Guogeli Street, drew a large crowd, packed with locals and visitors by noon. This market has secured a spot on the must-visit lists for travelers who came to Harbin to ring in the New Year.

With over 40 stalls offering a wide array of ready-made local foods, the market frequently sees long queues. During the holiday period, the number of consumers surged by roughly 30%.
