The following is a biographical sketch of Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit, who was elected vice-chairman of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on Thursday. Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit Male, born in March 1942; ethnic Uygur, native of Yining of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region; joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in July 1960; started working in September 1965; graduated from the Electric Motor Engineering Department of the Xinjiang Institute of Engineering; senior engineer. 1960-1965 Studied at Electric Motor Engineering Department of the Xinjiang Institute of Engineering 1965-1980 Technician and engineer at the Construction Survey and Designing Institute of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region 1980-1983 Vice-president of the Construction Survey and Designing Institute of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region 1983-1991 Deputy director, member and secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Planning Commission of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region 1991-1993 Vice-chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region 1993-1994 Deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and acting chairman of the regional People's Government 1994-2003 Deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, chairman of the regional People's Government; chairman of the Standing Committee of the regional People's Congress and secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Standing Committee (January to May 2003) 2003-2008 Vice-chairman and member of the Leading Party Members' Group of the 10th CPPCC National Committee 2008- Vice-chairman and member of Leading Party Members' Group of the 11th CPPCC National Committee.
