Over the past 60 years, the level and types of traffic in China have undergone tremendous changes. Let's look back at some of the old photos from bygone days to see just how these changes have taken place.

1957-1979

1. The old Tian'an Men Square before expansion. It was quite difficult then for traffic to get across.

2. This traffic policeman wore the typical blue uniform with white raglan sleeves. The Shanghai brand car and police watchtower were common sights during that period.
