On the 23rd of August, 2009. Bai Xue won the women's marathon in 2 hours 25 minutes at the World Championships in Berlin.
Bai Xue was born in Yian County in Heilongjiang Province. She entered the Qiqihar Physical Education School in 2002. Later, she was encouraged by the Chinese famous long-distance running coach Wang Dexian and she rapidly progressed in races. In 2003, she participated in the Beijing marathon and won the proximity times.
In 2005, the 16th session of the Asian Athletics Championships is the first international competition which Bai Xue took part in. She won the women's 10,000 meter and 5,000 meter race with 2 gold medals and became the tournament's first double champion
