Singaporean pop star JJ Lin was honored the Singapore Youth Award 2009 last Sunday for his contribution to arts and culture.

JJ Lin, the third pop singer to be crowned with the honor after Sun Ho and Stefanie Sun, is one of Singapore's most recognisable musical exports who has made a name for himself in the Chinese pop scene.

On receiving the award, Lin said it was his strive and faith in making his music dream true that rewarded him with the honor. And with the award he paid tribute to his idol Michael Jackson who inspired him to take on music and whose huge effort in charity called on him to make contribution for the same cause.
 
JJ Lin rose to the mando-pop scene with his chart-sweeping debut album "Music Voyager" in 2003. He's been recognized as one of the most front-running singer, song-writer and producer in the pop industry.

The annual awards are given out to outstanding Singaporeans under the age of 35.
