A popular Chinese-Japanese rendition of Shakespeare's "Hamlet" will be staged in Beijing again after a series of sold-out shows last year.

The drama, by Japan's renowned theatrical director Keita Asari, will feature an all-Chinese cast and run from March 11 to 15 at the National Center for the Performing Arts.

It premiered in October last year at the Beijing Capital Theater, with each of the 13 shows jam-packed with fans of Shakespeare.

The show is a reprise of director Keita Asari's well-received 1968 version of "Hamlet", which was hailed as a "revived classic play".
