Prof. Wang Zhongqi was born in Tangxian County, Hebei Province in 1932. He graduated from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in 1957. At present, he is a professor and Ph.D. Supervisor of HIT. In 1997, he was selected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. In the early 1960s, he proposed the New Type of Blades of Engine 鈥?Bending and Torsional Blade Three-dimensional Forming Theory and Designing Methods, so that the energy loss has been decreased by 30 -50%. He also innovated the 鈥淏oundary Layer Radial Migration Theory鈥?and 鈥淏lade Bending and Torsion Joint Aerodynamic Forming Theory鈥?that have been recognized both at home and abroad.
