Recently, a reporter visited the Huma County area of Daxing鈥檃nling Region, Heilongjiang Province, including Xinsheng Oroqen nation County in Aihui District and Heihe, Xin鈥檈 Oroqen Nation County in Xunke County.

The reporter visited a number of Oroqen folk artists鈥?homes and watched Orogen animal skin manufacturing skills, birch bark making skills, "Mo Sukun" rap and the playing of the Orogen mouth harp. These non-material cultural heritage skills have been handed down from ancient Oroqen tradition.

Oroqen is the smallest ethnic minority in China. Currently there are only about 8,000 people, mainly living Daxing鈥檃nling and Xiaoxing鈥檃nling, the mountain regions of Heilongjiang Province and Inner Mongolia鈥檚 Dong Autonomous County of Heihe City.
