On October 19th, Shi Liliang from Nan Shaolin Temple, Quanzhou, China, known as “Yizhichan” (one figure dhyana) challenged the legendary Shaolin move “floating on water”. Shi Liliang “flew” 15 meters in length using this move with thin plywood and broke his previous record of 10 meters. What’s the trick of “floating on water”? Shi Liliang summarized: “You must be quick and your footsteps should be small. When the plywood floats on the water, you cannot use your whole feet to touch the ground but only your toes”.
How can Shi liliang succeed in this kind of Kungfu? Shi Liliang summarizes two points: firstly you should practice qigong and secondly you should do a series of special training. Qigong is a kind of sport that is active inside, including shallow breathing and deep breathing, mainly paying attention in adapting breathing while practicing. Your heart should be quiet like water. Beginners can practice for 10 minutes to 20 minutes every day. The best time to do the exercise is when the air is fresh at 3 or 4 o’clock or after 10 o’clock. |
