One hundred films will compete for the 21 awards of the 46th Taiwan Golden Horse Film Festival, organizers said as the application session finished on August 31.

The entries include 73 dramas, 15 short films, 10 documentaries and two cartoon films, altogether 20 more than last year, according to a release on the awards' official website.

Among the entries are this year's blockbusters "Ip Man", "Forever Enthralled", "Sophie's Revenge", and "If You Are the One".

Nominations for the Golden Horse awards will be announced on October 7, and the awards ceremony will be held on November 28 in Taipei.
