Chinese stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.85 percent to 4,102.2 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.21 percent higher at 14,156.27 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices totaled 2.48 trillion yuan (about 356.7 billion U.S. dollars), down from 2.54 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Coal and property stocks led the gains, while shares related to AI applications and precious metals suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.4 percent to close at 3,311.51 points on Wednesday.
The STAR Composite Index, which reflects the performance of stocks on China's sci-tech innovation board, closed 0.98 percent lower at 1,785.43 points on Wednesday.
