HARBIN, Jan. 14 (HLJBS) – A series of winter fishing events are in full swing across major rivers and lakes in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, offering locals and tourists a chance to experience the unique charm and bounty of the season.
Centered on the theme “Sino-Russian Twin Cities Reap a Bountiful Harvest through Winter Fishing”, an event of the 2025 Heilongjiang “Cold-Water Fish • Winter Fishing Season” series kicked off in Aihui District, Heihe City. Young fishermen from the Oroqen ethnic group hauled nets laden with river fish from beneath the ice, sharing the joy of the harvest with domestic and international guests.
In Nenjiang City, a winter fishing competition attracted numerous anglers to a frozen lake. Despite temperatures plunging to 30 degrees Celsius below zero, participants enthusiastically engaged in the thrilling sport, which combined skill with entertainment.
Meanwhile, Hulin City created an extensive “ice fishing fun zone” on a vast frozen surface, where 160 contestants competed for honors in a dedicated ice fishing tournament.
