Hong Kong stocks closed down 429.34 points, or 1.55 percent, to 27,323.59 points on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 27,249.08 and 27,727.27. Turnover totaled 111.50 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 14.20 billion U.S. dollars).
