Authorities on the Chinese mainland have hailed the repatriation from Kenya of 40 people suspected of having committed telecom fraud.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said this showcases the resolution of China and Kenya to jointly combat transnational crimes.

40 suspects, including 35 from the mainland and five from Taiwan, were brought back to the mainland on Monday.

The move comes around four months after repatriation by Kenya of 77 telecom fraud suspects from the mainland and Taiwan.
