銆€銆€Hundreds of mourners from home and abroad lit 3,000 candles during a vigil on Dec.12, 2012 at the memorial hall for victims of the December 13, 1937, Nanjing Massacre. The vigil is held every year on the eve of the anniversary to mourn the 300,000 people killed by invading Japanese troops 75 years ago. The tragedy, also known as the Rape of Nanking, is marked today across China. On that day in 1937, Japanese invaders seized the city and started atrocities that continued for weeks and killed more than 300,000 demobilized servicemen and civilians, including many women and children.
