銆€銆€Local authorities in Taiwan issued guidelines on Thursday to improve the shopping environment for mainland tourists traveling to the island.

銆€銆€The local sightseeing bureau said it coordinated with the mainland to discuss the guidelines and has called on Taiwanese authorities to guarantee the rights of mainland tourists.

銆€銆€Travel agencies should guide tourists to high-quality retail stores, the bureau said.

銆€銆€The bureau said stores that mislead or cheat customers will have their names published, adding that tour guides who do the same will be punished as well.

銆€銆€Taiwanese authorities said they will continue to promote permanent travel activities, encourage mainland tourists to visit scenic areas and make efforts to promote in-depth tours.
