Hollywood blockbuster "The Bourne Legacy" opened in Chinese mainland cinemas on Thursday, October 25, 2012.

The fourth installment of the Bourne franchise sees things change direction with star Matt Damon who plays Jason Bourne no where to be seen.

The film instead stars Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross - a fellow estranged assassin.

Directed by Tony Gilroy, Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz join the cast while Joan Allen and Albert Finney are reprising their roles from the previous films.

"The Bourne Legacy" was filmed primarily in New York, though some scenes were filmed in the Philippines, South Korea and Canada.
