Talking work and learning Chinese Western sculptors show their elegant demeanour at the Harbin International Ice Sculpture Competition ![]() On January 6th, the 25th Harbin International Ice Sculpture Competition opened in Harbin Zhaolin Park. There were 80 foreign artists from 40 representative teams joining in. Most sculptors came to Harbin for the first time. Harbin is dreamy, beautiful and special in their eyes. Finnish team: easy work for a mixed pair group Kimmo and Eva from Finland came to join in the Ice Sculpture Competition in China for the first time. Kimmo has been interested in ice and sand sculpture for 12 years. He received 3 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 8 bronze medals in world level competition. In numerous honours, he regards his "mass appraisal award" as important. He said, “My works are seen by everyone. If they receive recognition, then I am satisfied. ” Kimmo’s partner is a lovely Finnish girl, Eve. Eve had been interested in sand sculpture for 6 years. This is her first ice sculpture competition. She is interested in Chinese food but she has only been in Harbin two days. She asked reporters, “ If I want to order a dish and I need to tell the waiter not to add meat, how can I say it in Chinese?” After the reporter told her how to say it, Eve said with a smile, “Other people always ask how to say ‘I love you', but I ask to say “without meat.” |
