On Nov.1st, Harbin City Police announced, the seven circumstances, foreigners may apply for permanent residence in China. According to reports, meeting one of the following conditions and able to provide evidence to the Police Bureau management will allow application for permanent residence in China: I Those with Direct investment in China for three consecutive years with tax records showing good stable investment II Those in China with vice president, assistant director positions, associate professor or above. These and other titles enjoy the same treatment. Applicants should hold their position consecutively for four years, where they have lived in China for less than 3 years and have a good tax record. III Those who have given significant and outstanding contributions to China and those that China need urgently. IV The spouse and unmarried children under 18 years old of a resident who are referred in 1st term, 2nd term and 3rd term. V The spouse of Chinese citizens or foreigners with permanent residence status, who have had a marriage relationship for five years, have had five years continuous residence in China where each years stay in China is no less than nine months and have stable living situation and residence. VI Unmarried children under 18 years of age who live with parents VII Those who are over 60 years old, have no direct overseas relatives, seeking refuge within immediate family members living in China for 5 years.
