Brazilian presidential candidate for the ruling Workers' Party Dilma Rousseff, who is strongly favored to win Sunday's runoff, cast her own ballot at 9: 15 a.m. (1115 GMT) in the city of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul state.

Rousseff voted at a voting station in Santos Dumont school, accompanied by the southern state' s governor-elect, former Justice Minister Tarso Genro.

The candidate made a victory sign with her fingers after casting her ballot. She was greeted with a kiss by a clerk.

She then went to her daughter's home in Porto Alegre to take a rest before departing for Brasilia, where she will follow the vote count next to President Lula da Silva.

Speaking to reporters before entering the voting station, the candidate said the controversy with her opponents is in the past and she prefers to remember the good moments of the campaign.

She also said that, if elected, she will govern "for all Brazilians" together with the coalition that supports her.

According to the latest polls, Rousseff is expected to prevail with 55 percent of valid votes, against 45 percent for rival Jose Serra from the Brazilian Social Democracy Party.
