銆€銆€UNITED NATIONS, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition debuted at the UN headquarters on Monday to showcase the Buddhist history and culture of the West Lake in China's resort city of Hangzhou.

銆€銆€The exhibition, dubbed "Buddha's Footprints," displays 34 photos taken by Chinese photographer Zhang Wang showing the beautiful scenery of Buddhist temples in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, as well as the daily life of monks.

銆€銆€"There are a lot of Buddhist temples around the West Lake in Hang Zhou," Zhang told Xinhua. "As an artist, I feel I have the responsibility to protect our Chinese Buddhist cultural heritage and let more and more people know about this precious cultural treasure."

銆€銆€The 50-year-old said he has devoted himself to photography related to Chinese Buddhist culture. He even lived in temples to pursue his career, trying to capture the most touching moment in Buddhist environment.

銆€銆€The exhibition, jointly sponsored by the UN Chinese Book Club, the Hangzhou municipal government and other relevant institutions, will end on Dec. 14.
