Group USA is one of the more active groups. The first thing they do is insert their flag into the snow pile which is to be carved. The flag waves in the cold Harbin wind as if to show the unique impressive majesty of the United States. When the members of the group saw the reporters cameras, they all struck a cool and lively pose. Although the outdoors temperature of Harbin is over -20鈩? the freezing cold cannot stop the enthusiasm of the artists. They took out their demo and then were busy with carving. The division of work between the four men is clear. One is to formulate the design; one is to command on the top place; the other two co-operate to cut snow piles. After a while, to our surprise, the four guys took off their coats and threw them away. They seemed to forget they were in Harbin, also called 'The Ice City'. Their passion for art had impelled the cold.

Compared with USA, four university students from The Nottingham Trent University, Britain, participated in this competition. They didn't have any past experience of snow sculpture competitions and had never even touched a snow sculpture before coming to Harbin.
