Trade between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan reached 44.26 billion U.S. dollars in the first four months, up 67.9 percent year on year, according to the Ministry of Commerce. The figure included 8.52 billion U.S. dollars of Chinese mainland export to Taiwan, up 63.8 percent year on year, and 35.74 billion U.S. dollars of mainland imports from the island, an increase of 68.9 percent, according to a report posted by the ministry on its website. From January to April, the Chinese mainland approved 822 projects with investment from Taiwan, and recorded an inflow of 720 million U.S. dollars of investment from Taiwan. The Chinese mainland is Taiwan's largest export market. The Chinese mainland's trade volume with Hong Kong from January to April this year rose by 31.4 percent compared with the same period last year to hit 61.82 billion U.S. dollars, according to the report. |
