Chinese director Gao Qunshu's upcoming action-crime thriller "Wind Blast" on Wednesday unveiled its first poster and a trailer at the Cannes Film Festival, QQ.com reports.

The film tells the story of four policemen chasing criminals into a "no man's land".

The bleak scenes of western China, fierce gun battles, and intense car-chases featured in the trailer have impressed audiences. Many overseas media professionals have given a thumbs-up on the trailer, saying it contains elements from classic Hollywood gangster films.

The poster features one of the policemen, played by Duan Yihong, holding a gun and looking straight ahead.

The film also stars Wu Jing, Ni Dahong, Zhang Li, Xia Yu, Francis Ng, Yu Nan, and Charlie Yeung. It is set to be released on September 2.
