    Some cities and regions in Heilongjiang Province raised the prices of drinking water as of January 1st, 2010.

    Price of drinking water for residential use, providing by the Mopan Mountain water project has increased from 2.6 Yuan to 3.2 Yuan per ton in Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang Province.

    Of the 3.2 Yuan per ton standard, 0.8 Yuan is paid for the sewage treatment. Meanwhile, the water charge for low income families in Harbin remains unchanged and is still 1.3 Yuan per ton.

    The price of water for non-residential use also increased in Jixi city according to provincial price department. Among them the tap water for enterprises and companies rose from 3 Yuan to 4.8 Yuan per ton. And water price for special industries such as bath centers and swimming pools saw a hike from 5 Yuan to 7.2 Yuan per ton.
