Located at 53 degrees north latitude, Beiji village in Mohe county, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, is the northernmost border village on the Chinese mainland. It is one of the best places in China to observe the aurora and experience the midnight sun phenomenon. Each year, numerous tourists and astrophotography enthusiasts travel here in hopes of catching a glimpse of the lights.
In the past two years, auroras have been observed in the area multiple times.
