Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province will comprehensively upgrade its provincial-level telemedicine service system in 2026. This initiative aims to effectively alleviate difficulties in accessing medical care for residents in remote areas and achieve full coverage of telemedicine services across all county-level hospitals, township health centers, and village clinics within the province.
The upgrade will enhance the capacity for AI-enabled medical services, including remote consultations, significantly improving consultation efficiency and diagnostic accuracy. All the 30 provincially-administered hospitals in Heilongjiang will offer “AI + telemedicine” services.
Furthermore, 20 major Grade-A tertiary hospitals in the northeastern province will establish telemedicine collaboration mechanisms with Peking Union Medical College Hospital that aims at providing high-level telemedicine services covering all 13 prefecture-level cities in Heilongjiang.
