A major Chinese innovation in clean coal combustion technology has recently gained global recognition. The world's first 660-megawatt high-efficiency ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler has been selected by the International Energy Agency (IEA) as a global best practice case study.
The boiler was developed by Harbin Boiler Company, a subsidiary of Harbin Electric Group, for Shanxi Energy Group for Power and Heating.
This selection underscores China’s leading role in clean coal power technology and represents an international recognition of its advanced manufacturing capabilities.
The IEA collaborates with nations worldwide to shape energy policies for a secure and sustainable future. Its annual case studies are chosen based on stringent criteria, including technological innovation, potential for global application, and demonstrated effectiveness in reducing emissions.
