The “Global Mayors Dialogue Harbin” opened on Tuesday in Harbin, the capital city of northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province.
Under the theme “Connecting the World with Ice and Snow, Win-Win Cooperation for a Shared Future,” the event has brought together mayors, deputy mayors, and envoys of city heads from countries including Canada, Finland, Germany, Greece, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Turkey, and China.
Over the three-day event, participants are scheduled to engage in in-depth discussions on practical pathways to foster the ice-and-snow economy.
Delegates visited venues including the Harbin Ice and Snow World, the century-old Central Street, and the Harbin Institute of Technology Aerospace Museum. The tours were designed to offer a wider perspective on Harbin’s strategies for the sustainable development of its ice and snow economy, the integration of technology to empower related industries, and the cultivation of a distinctive “ice and snow IP”.
The key dialogue session of the “Global Mayors Dialogue Harbin” will be held later today. Domestic and international guests are set to share practical experiences and common aspirations in areas such as ice and snow industry development and urban governance.
Guided by the State Council Information Office, the “Global Mayors Dialogue” serves as a crucial platform for global exchange and cooperation, aiming to enhance international trust, promote mutual learning, and strengthen global collaboration.
