On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival, eight AFS international exchange students from Thailand and Italy attended a special experiential class at Jiamusi No. 8 Middle School, preparing to celebrate their very first Mid-Autumn Festival in China.
The exchange students used red paper to cut out shapes of Chang’e and the Jade Rabbit, learning about Mid-Autumn folk tales; practiced writing the characters “中秋” (Mid-Autumn) with calligraphy brushes, appreciating the beauty of Chinese characters; learned to sing Mid-Autumn songs, experiencing the childlike fun of the festival; and made dumplings together with their Chinese classmates, sharing the joy of reunion and togetherness.
