The report says that despite the impressive growth – more than 10 million foreign travellers in 2024 and exports of tourist services worth US$3.5 billion – the country still has huge opportunities for the development of the industry.

The meeting set a goal of welcoming 15m tourists this year and increasing exports of tourism services to US$4billion .

Mirziyoyev instructed to work out a programme to develop 36 districts based on gastronomic, medical, extreme, cultural-historical, pilgrimage, winter, and agro-tourism. It was also decided to declare one weekend a month as "family travel days" for domestic tourism. In addition, the country is developing a unified tourism platform with access to ticketing, visas and information on historical sites.

It is noted that support for tourism is accompanied by an increase in investment activity. In the first quarter of the year alone, international agreements worth US$39 billion were concluded, including with the UAE and Malaysia. In total in 2025 it is planned to attract US$42 billion to the industry.
