Saudi Arabia is advancing its position as a global logistics hub with the announcement of 18 new logistics zones, supported by investments exceeding US$2.66 billion. The initiative, revealed by Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser, aligns with the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030 strategy to enhance economic diversification and global connectivity.

The Kingdom aims to expand its logistics zones from the current 22 to 59 by 2030, creating opportunities for both local and international investors. Al-Jasser highlighted the Kingdom’s rising status in global logistics, mentioning the addition of 30 new maritime shipping routes in 2024.

The integration of transport systems is a central focus of the Kingdom’s logistics strategy, aiming to enhance competitiveness and streamline supply chains, as reported by Arab News.

This includes expanding maritime and air freight operations, increasing rail freight capacity, and activating logistics centres to support sustainable development.
