CHENGDU, July 31 (Xinhua) -- China has secured its berths in both men's and women's volleyball quarterfinals with respective victories at the Chengdu Universiade here Monday evening.
The Chinese men defeated Ukraine 25-20, 25-18 and 25-9 to secure a top-two finish in Pool C with two wins in two matches.
Zhang Jingyin led China with nine points with Wang Dongchen and Yu Yuantai adding seven and six respectively.
Japan and Ukraine, who shared a 1-1 win-loss record, will vie for the other ticket up for grabs in pool C.

Poland, Argentina and Germany have also won two matches in a row to lead the standings in pools A, B and D.
The Chinese women beat pool B opponents Argentina in straight sets for their second consecutive win and the top place in the three-team preliminary round-robin.
Zhou Yetong scored 13 points, and Zhuang Yushan added 10 in the 25-22, 25-21 and 26-24 victory.
Italy, Japan, the Czech Republic and Hong Kong, China have also booked their tickets to the knockout stage of women's volleyball.
