Business event to be held in Beijing

Zimbabwe and China are expected to hold a business forum in Beijing from Tuesday, with local businesses expected to identify potential areas of trade between the two countries, as reported by ZBC News, a partner of TV BRICS.

The minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ambassador Frederick Shava, is in China ahead of the start of the Zimbabwe-China Business Forum scheduled for this Tuesday until 1 June.

The minister is leading Zimbabwe's delegation of local businesses to the forum organised by the national trade development and promotion agency, ZIMTRADE.

During the three-day forum, Minister Shava is expected to meet with the Zimbabwean diaspora community in China and his Chinese counterparts to discuss ways to deepen and consolidate cooperation between the two countries.

On the other hand, businessmen from both countries are expected to consolidate relations and establish business links.

The forum is part of the Second Republic's policy of engagement and re-engagement.

Zimbabwe firmly supports the One-China policy and the One country, two systems policy line established by China as well as the One Belt, One Road co-building initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by the Chinese side.
