South China's Shenzhen began soliciting public opinion of the city's childcare subsidy policy on Monday.

The city plans to issue 7,500 yuan ($1110.04), 11,000 yuan, and 19,000 yuan to "first child", "second child", and "third child" families, respectively.

The subsidies are included in the districts' annual budget, and the municipal and district government bear 50 percent each, according to the notice.

In Shenzhen, the number of newborns of permanent residents in 2021 was 201,300, down by 25.25 percent from the birth peak in 2017, according to the draft instruction of the Health Commission of Shenzhen Municipality.
