China on Sunday delivered its homegrown regional jetliner, the ARJ21, to Indonesian airline TransNusa, marking the country's passenger jetliner entering overseas market for the first time.
The ARJ21 has 95 economy-class seats and fully customized inner and outer configurations. Its outer appearance is painted blue, yellow, and green, which symbolize the sky, humankind, and the earth, respectively. Meanwhile, the Indonesian flag is printed on its fuselage.
The TransNusa Airline was established in 2005 with its headquarters in Jakarta and its business radiates the neighboring countries of Indonesia.
As the largest ASEAN economy, Indonesia has a burgeoning aviation market. The country's tens of thousands of islands are suitable for the operation of regional aircraft.
Developed by Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC), the ARJ21 regional aircraft has a range of up to 3,700 km. It can fly in alpine and plateau regions and is adaptive to various airport conditions.
Nearly 100 ARJ21 planes have been delivered to its clients and in operation on 300 flight routes, connecting more than 100 cities and having safely carried 5.6 million passengers, COMAC said.
