A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official has called for accurate supervision to consolidate the momentum of stable and sound growth of the country's economy.

Zhao Leji, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks during his investigation and research trip in east China's Jiangsu Province from Sunday to Wednesday.

He called on disciplinary and supervisory agencies to perform their duties faithfully and accurately to promote stability on the six fronts and security in the six areas.

The six fronts refer to employment, the financial sector, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment, and expectations. The six areas refer to job security, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy security, stable industrial and supply chains, and the normal functioning of primary-level governments.

During his trip, Zhao visited a local village and two companies, learning about epidemic containment, flood control and relief, work and production resumption, as well as the fight against corruption.

Zhao urged disciplinary and supervisory agencies to maintain supervision in the implementation of decisions and policies made by the CPC Central Committee, including regular epidemic prevention and control measures, flood control and relief, poverty eradication, and accelerating the restoration of economic and social development. He also called for efforts to explore new ways for supervision.

Speaking at a symposium, Zhao pointed out that a system under which officials "don't dare to, are unable to, and have no desire to commit acts of corruption" must be advanced as a whole.

He also underlined the need to improve Party and government conduct, the political ecosystem, and the business environment. Enditem
