The China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) reported a considerable grow in freight indices in the India-Pakistan routes.
The NCFI, reflecting freight rate changes of 21 routes departing from the Ningbo-Zhoushan port, stood at 752.1 points Friday, down 1.9 percent compared with last week.
The sub-index for the route to India and Pakistan stood at 1,379.9 points, up 7.4 percent compared with last week.
According to the Ningbo Shipping Exchange, due to the early Ramadan of this year, the shipping demand has been recovering steadily. As the temporary suspending of partial services is still maintained, liner companies have begun to beef up the freight rates.
Reported every Friday (except Chinese holidays), the NCFI was first published in September 2013.
