The city of Huanggang, one of the hardest-hit cities in the epidemic-stricken Hubei Province, has planned to rebuild another hospital by Saturday, said local authorities Friday.
The city's epidemic control and prevention headquarters said it will rebuild the maternity and childcare hospital, which is under construction, into a temporary designated hospital for treating COVID-19 patients. An estimated 400 hospital beds will be put into use by Saturday.
According to the health commission of Huanggang, the city reported 2,791 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, including 306 clinically diagnosed cases.
