The Communist Party of China (CPC)'s top disciplinary watchdog has published six more typical cases of disciplinary violations by officials.

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) also called for high vigilance against practice of formalities for formalities' sake, bureaucratism, hedonism and extravagance by officials ahead of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, according to a statement issued Monday.

The six cases involved officials' misconduct that violated the Party's eight-point frugality code, ranging from misuse of public funds for banquets, accepting gifts and money in violation of regulations, to purchasing public vehicles above the standard.

Punishments for those on the list included warnings and removal from office.

In one case, Liu Zhihong, former chairman of Liaoning Urban and Rural Construction Group and former secretary of the CPC committee at the company, accepted 30,000 yuan (about 4,344 U.S. dollars) worth of gifts in violation of regulations during the 2018 Spring Festival.

Liu also engaged in other improper conduct. He was dismissed from Party and administrative posts.

The CCDI urged disciplinary inspectors to work ceaselessly to enforce Party discipline and strengthen supervision.
