China held a symposium on Wednesday to commemorate the 100th birthday of a late vice chairman of the country's top political advisory body. Jing Shuping was one of the pioneers of the country's modern industrial and commercial sector, and once served as chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. He was born in 1918 and died in 2009. Attendees of the symposium were called on to learn from Jing as he loved the country and the people, stayed devoted to the nation, stuck to the truth, sought continuous progress, followed the CPC closely, focused on the real economy, and remained selfless at work. Wang Yang, chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the symposium and met Jing's relatives. |
