Hong Kong stocks closed up 169.14 points, or 0.60 percent, to 28,480.83 points on Thursday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 28,217.31 and 28,614.53. Turnover totaled 91.18 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 11.62 billion U.S. dollars).
