China to support documentary production to record new era

China's State Administration of Radio and Television on Wednesday said it will support documentary filmmaking to record the new era.

The administration said it will identify and support the production of 100 major documentaries between 2018 and 2022 to focus on major themes over the next five years. During the same period, 30 directors and amateurs will be supported every year to shoot short films on the "Chinese Dream," telling the real stories of hard-working Chinese.

Documentaries that record the new era, explain the new thinking, reflect on new achievements and showcase the new spirit will be supported, it said.
