[File photo: cctv.cn] TV and film representatives from China and New Zealand have attended the launch of the premier of a co-production documentary "Glamorous New Zealand" held in the New Zealand capital Wellington. The documentary is due to air on the international Channel of China Central Television, and features 3 themes: "Land of Diversity", "A Paradise on Earth" and "A Prosperous Island Nation". Production of a sister program "Glamorous China" is already underway. The works are being seen as a high point in China and New Zealand cooperation in TV co-production. The two sides signed two co-production agreements on films and television respectively in 2010 and 2014. They are the result of the signing of the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries back in 2008. Top Chinese publicity official Liu Qibao also attended the launch which was part of the 2016 New Zealand China Film Week. Chinese box office hit "The Mermaid" is the centrepiece of six Chinese movies featured at the event, which also features other popular films such as "Go Away, Mr Tumor," "Xuan Zang," "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny," "The Monkey King 2" and "Monster Hunt." The Chinese official is scheduled to attend a series of cultural activities during his visit to the country including the opening of a photo and book exhibition themed "Beautiful China." He will then travel to Australia on the next leg of his tour.
